Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year (2022) wish you African Angel's board!

Harriet visits the Max Ernst Comprehensive School in Cologne.

For an online seminar that is to be informed about the work and partnership with African Angel, our African-Angel partner school in Cologne Harriet has invited to speak to the current development at African Angel, including dealing with Corona pandemic . For this we have prepared a presentation with meaningful images.

The whole thing is an idea of Paolo Muscarella and was organized by him.

The most important costs at African Angel are the school money. Here, like every year, a call to donate. - Thanks 🙂

As always, we need money for the school children in the cottage, our students in Kyiv, Ukraine and Dakar, Senegal, and, what has now been added, for our technician students at the University in Accra, Ghana.
In addition, not all children still have a school sponsor or training sponsor and studies sponsors.
So if you feel like it, please contact us.
We and the children will thank them.

The cost estimate for the roof destroyed by the rain in the cottage is now available.

On October 8th we sent an email to our members and friends (see newsletter) in which we had reported our damage to our house through heavy rain.
In order to know what the cost of repairing us, we have had a cost estimate that offers two alternatives:
If the roof is „simply“ replaced, it costs about 15000 euros.
An alternative would be to replace the roof with a concrete ceiling, which would enable us to build a second floor.
Here you would beat 2 flies with one stone, so to speak, and create expansion options for our cottage in the future.
That would cost around EUR 25,000.
If you want to read more about it, you can see a PDF file in German (Google translator) and one in English (original) with a detailed report on the planned work.

Happy Birthday, African Angel e.V., on his 19th birthday.

African Angel e.V. was founded on September 15, 2002. Since then, the club has helped around 120 children from the Slums of Accra. We are very proud. We are grateful for your support, because without them it would not have been possible.

The release notice for 2019 was received in July 2021.

Weitere Information finden Sie hier.

The small house on our farm country is almost finished.

It is actually necessary that someone, as long as the farm country is not yet recognizable, and there is still no agriculture or cattle breeding there, that someone is there and carefully careful to the country and thus demonstrate that this country belongs to someone.

The adults are also happy about "Nele", the bus.

With the African Angel staff, Harriet drove to our Farmland in Pomadze in the central region of Ghana, approx. 50 kilometers, i.e. approx. 2.5 car hours-the streets are not the best-from the cottage , to visit the country and look for the right.
In addition, she visited our property near the Atlantic coast in Mankoadze.

First ride in the new bus called "Nele".

Finally the children have a new bus with which they are driven to school and/or to the church. Other trips, such as those on the sea or our farm country, are also made.
The pictures speak for themselves … 🙂

All buses get a name.

Usually we name our buses that were donated with the first name of the respective donor.
This time the donor wanted us to name the bus after his daughter Nele; The „H“ stands for the last name.
A children’s name from Germany for a bus for children from Ghana. – A nice idea!
We would like to thank the donor family.
Hayford left and Ishmael on the right. Hayford studies programmer and Ishmael Grafik design and architecture.

Constipation of the sewage pipes and its repair.

Unfortunately, the sewage pipes were blocked after 13 years and had to be repaired. The floor had to be updated and the pipes were removed. Instead, you have now built a concrete channel that is covered by concrete slabs. The water no longer flows through pipes, but through a channel. That will probably last longer and is easier to maintain. –
All of this cost a lot of money again.
Thanks to all members and friends for their support.

Again two who go to the university.

Richel and Clarissa have successfully completed the 9th grade of the Junior High School and are now moving to boarding school in Accra to prepare their university degree on the Accra Girls Senior High School. They do it in three years and will then study. Clarissa Tetteh wants to become a surgeon and Richel wants to become a nurse.
We wish you much success.
The freshly baked high school students pack their things in the car, ...
... to move to Accra, where you will now attend the university.

It couldn't be better: the new bus has arrived in Ghana 🙂

The previous African-Angel school bus had not been used for a long time. Finally, he even had to be pushed by the children every time to start him.
Now we have finally got a new much bigger bus. You can hardly say how much everyone is happy about it.
A member donated this bus and also took care of the whole paperwork, which was necessary to buy and transport Germany to Ghana. That was a great help and we would like to thank you very much.
Now the children can be returned to school again in the morning or other trips together. However, we are particularly pleased that we can now all go to our farm country regularly to get to know it even better and to manage it soon. –
Thanks again! Also to all other members, godparents and donors – big and small – who massively support African Angel behind the scenes !!!

The children, how they look forward to the new bus and all the other donations in kind to Ghana.

Our farm country. -A guard house is created.

In order to operate agriculture in the future – to start with it – bought African Angel Land, which is to serve later. The country is a total of 13.7 hectares. Of these, 5.2 hectares are already paid. African Angel pays the rest of the Grud piece on installments.
So that the country is not occupied by strangers – something like this happens again and again – it has to be guarded. For this purpose we build a small waking house there. – Here are a few pictures about the state of affairs.

We are dependent on further donations for this. But we also need people who can provide us with tips and/or tools when managing this country.

We would be happy to help.

Study in Senegal. Large wide world for Desmond, Derrick and Elijah.

In January, Harriet was already in Senegal to prepare everything for the prospective students: a joint apartment and the language school, which they will attend for 1 year to learn French. Then you will start your studies.
In March, Harriet accompanied the boys in Dakar, Senegal in the first 3 weeks, and showed them into their new life.
The first things for the apartment, such as dining table and chairs, mattresses, hotplates and dishes or cutlery, a laptop for all 3, a refrigerator and the first school books were bought.
Of course, all of this only works because, despite difficult times, we have our supporters and donors. Thanks for that!
If you want, you can still sponsor (studies sponsorship), as not all students in Ghana, Kyiv and Dakar have a sponsor.
You can get more information about this from African Angel e.V. in Düsseldorf or simply by email.

Desmond, Derrick and Elijah, our students in Senegal got their first books, French for beginners.
Because of Corona, Harriet hired a teacher who teaches our boys French.
Cooking …
… and eating. Harriet and the 3 prospective students.
Paper stuff also has to be done so that everything is prepared for your studies.

Speaking of foreign languages combines strangers.

In these pictures you can see in which countries in Africa which official languages are spoken. Incidentally, Ethiopia is the only country in which African is still spoken.
It is striking that the French and the English have made themselves very wide in Africa in Africa.
French is mainly spoken around Ghana. This means that as a young Ghanaer you are thinking of working in a neighboring country or wanting to do business with a neighboring country, it is best to be able to French, the official language of Ghana; That makes such a story much easier. Many of the countries lying around Ghana use the 2 large ports of Ghana, the Takoradi and the Tema port to turn their goods from there.
French can be given great opportunities and opportunities as Ghanaians. And African Angel recognized this and passes it on to his children. That is why there are already 3 of our students in Senegal.

Hier sieht man, in welchen ehemaligen Kolonien …
… welche Amtssprachen gesprochen werden.

A good example of what African Angel has as a goal.

African Angel’s goal – to say that again – is to help poor children who come from the Slum Bukom in Accra, the capital of Ghana. To give them a perspective, shape them and bring themselves and their own country forward.
Here we see 3 of our children who will study now and will soon have a profession.
At that time they were there in 2004 as the youngest children of the first 26 children who had received African Angel.
Today they study in French in various areas in Dakar with the advantage of learning the French language. Because around Ghana there are French -speaking countries. English already speak because English is spoken in Ghana.
After your studies, you have the opportunity to move something throughout West Africa to North Africa; for themselves and for others.
We are all very proud and happy about their path, which they went here.

A photo of 6 of our first 26 children, which African Angel took at the time, with her uniforms and Henkelmann in front of the Bethel Kindergarten in Sakumono, a district of Tema.
For each child, African Angel creates a savings account from the start, on which the children themselves can create or save their parts of their pocket money. However, the children only get their savings when they are 18 years old and the respective account is dissolved. It was now time for these 3 boys.
Here our prospective and studying in the Senegal 3 boys at the airport, Kotoka International Airport in Accra, say goodbye to their families. A ritual at African Angel.
Mama Harriet with her boys on the way to Senegal.

After all of this, you are devoted to school again.

The preparation time in cottage and the preparation for the Spelling Bee are in full swing. If the cottage „technology“ and „infrastructure“ allow this, we will have our first podcast with the end. We would be very grateful for any help for podcast devices.
We cannot do this without expressing our very thank you without expressing our peaceful and loyal members, donors, sponsors and sponsors as well as our children. We wish you all a rented memory. Bless you all.

Volley ball network; homemade.

Can someone guess what the cottage boys was about? They built a network to play volleyball. They used blocks to hold a mob-stick where they would hang the network to stand alone. Creativity from their best side with all available means. This creativity that uses what you have on hand without a prince’s claims is great potential. Therefore, we thank our loyal and peaceful members, sponsors, sponsors and donors for investing in the life of these souls to advance Africa and the world. I just love her.

Spectacle competition.

Spectacle competition. Words and their meaning and their origin must be spelled and explained so that everyone can hear. It will be an open forum. Girls will compete against boys, classmates against classmates, roommates against roommates, and since our children attend 7 different schools in the community, there will also be a competition between schools. Cottage seniors in the tertiary institutions will be the judges, so they have to know better as a judge, so brainstorming is the trend in the cottage. Dictionaries are very much in demand – in the cottage, so new Oxford Current English Dictionaries are provided and inaugurated, which have been added to the old existing specimens.
As usual, our million dollar goes to our peaceful and loyal members, sponsors, sponsors and donors for financial support.
Our special thanks go to Ms. Adoley for the organization and the coordination.
Go children go. You have our support and we wish everyone good luck in competition.
Thanks🙏🙏🙏

4: 4; A hard nut.

Good Sunday afternoon to our friends.
Here is a match between all-yanke FC in Bukom and African Angel-FC from the cottage. The game ended 4: 4. African Angel is in the yellow-green trickot, while all yanks are in red-yellow jerseys.
As usual, our patrons, our sponsors and peaceful members for all support, be it financially, material, such as jerseys, balls, soccer shoes, training accessories and much more. Our thanks also go to the FB team for the friendly donation to African Angel, Chanances for Children. We appreciate it. Thanks.
Our special thanks go to our trainers Richard and David for organizing this game.
I spoke to one of our cottage boys who admitted and I quote:
„It was a hard game.“
The all-Yankee FC was for our cottage boys and a hard nut.
Congratulations to all players and their couches.
Thank you for the conversation.

Play crazy games. Fill the bottles with the bare hand for example

How can this be possible or possible? Corona indoor games in cottage. Boys against girls. The game is to fill a liter bottle with the bare palm and aids with water. Is that possible? 🙂
Nothing is impossible for cottage children to achieve if they are determined and they make the impossible.
There was also a sack of sack bouncing competition, and you can enjoy the fun you have when you celebrate your free time.
Great members, sponsors and benefactors of African Angel, their contributions made this entertainment in the cottage, and we say a very big thank you.

Outside games instead of learning in the cottage is the order of the day; Corona time.

Outdoor games. Football games outside of the cottage. We thank everyone who gave the cottage children the jerseys, footballs, wests, soccer shoes and all accessories required for the formation of a team. Football games between girls and boys. Girls in green trickots and the „little“ boys in red and yellow jerseys; The older ones are in white trickots. Pure fun for the Cottage children.
Our special thanks go to the Cottage coaches for organizing these games. Our loyal and peaceful members, friends and patrons, accept our thanks. Thanks🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Wegen Corona haben die Kinder in dieser Zeit viel Zeit, etwas mehr zu spielen als sonst; …
… auch außerhalb des Cottage. Im Folgenden sehen Sie ein paar Stimmungsbilder 🙂

Interior games instead of learning in the cottage is the order of the day; Corona time.

Interior games in cottage is the order of the day (trend) 😊. As we already know, it’s vacation in the cottage. School bags, books, rulers and etching gums are now packed away, and fun and games are the trend in the cottage. Cottage management with the support of our current seniors who do everything to keep the cottage alive. Because of COVID19, the Cottage children do not go into the holidays and public celebrations. Let it enjoy. Many thanks to everyone who made the Cottage kids happy

Backstage. - everyone who helps us and without whom it doesn't work.

Today, allow me to present the workers behind the scenes of our modest Düsseldorf office and from the cottage in one of the employee meeting departments in order to discuss the resulting questions. This happens as often as demand requires to convene a meeting. Without these helping hands in Düsseldorf and our employees in Ghana, we could not write a story. Cottage has 15 permanent employees, mothers, security personnel, trainers, drivers and 8 temporary workers who consist of teachers. Additional teachers are consulted on request if there is a need for a specific student and a certain subject. Due to Covid19, Ghana is still closed to 90% of school children, but until recently Cottage children received private tutorials. But all of this is associated with enormous financial costs, and our thanks still go to our loyal, peaceful, determined, committed members, patrons, friends and sponsors and visionaries who have made it possible for future managers. We honor this honor is due. Gabi😊 and Cottage Staffuit we honor you !!!! I thank everyone and might bless God. Stay safe and healthy. For those who believe, nothing is impossible. Believe in God.

Football training in the sand by the sea - more is not possible.

African-Angel football club; Training on the Atlantic Ocean, not far from the cottage. The African-Angel-FC consists of cottage boys of all ages and also boys who are not on the cottage whose parents consider their children to spend their time with meaningful things. The parents officially bring their children to the AA-FC and some children are added themselves. African Angel stands out from other clubs. African Angel is registered with the Ghanaian Football Association GFA with the teams Colts and Third Division. Thumbs up – for the Cottage Couch Richard and Couch David for this great work, and we say to all of our footballers that they should train hard and learn hard.
As always, our thanks go to all of our peaceful loyal members, friends, donors, sponsors and sponsors. Thanks u 👈

Happy New Year 2021

Happy new and healthy in 2021 to our beloved members, sponsors and benefactors who have seen us so far. These are four of their children who supported them with education. You have successfully completed the Junior High School in 2020, and God wants to attend the senior high school and the technical school in 2021. The joy and trust in their faces are so obvious that we can only wish them all the best on their trip. We thank everyone for the support and opportunity that was granted to us.

Clarissa proudly shows her ending the junior high school in Accra.
